Nervous Tissue

Nervous tissue is made up of millions of nerve cells called neurons. The neurons are highly specialized cells which controls and co-ordinates the body activities and forms a system called Nervous system. Nervous system consists of three types such as CNS, PNS and ANS.

Platelets (Thrombocytes)

Blood is the fluid in living organism that transports oxygen and nutrients to the cells in the body. It consists of Red Blood Cells(Erythrocytes), White Blood Cells(Leukocytes) and platelets (Thrombocytes).

Platelets are the part of the blood that helps to prevent blood loss through wounds by forming clot and fight off infections.

Bone connective tissue

The study of bone is known as Osteology. The bone connective tissue is highly calcified, solid, hard, rigid connective tissue. The matrix consists of an organic component called ossein. It is the major component of adult vertebrate endoskeleton.

Connective Tissues

This tissue is mesodermal in origin. It is the most abundant body tissue. The cells forming the connective tissues are more widely separated from each other than those forming the epithelium and intracellular substance. It has few cells, an extensive matrix and a rich blood supply.

Specialized Epithelial Tissue

Specialized Epithelial Tissue are a class of epithelial tissues that have very specific and specialized functions and structures. This tissue is composed of cuboidal, columnar, ciliated columnar epithelial cells. These are following types:

Ciliated Specialized Epithelium

This tissue is composed of long, elongated columnar epithelial cells. Each cell bears numerous cilia at the free surface, i.e. known as brush border.
